Job Description

UCP Staffing is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist in Reno, Nevada to source, evaluate, onboard, and manage candidates through the recruiting lifecycle while shaping talent strategy for client success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee job postings and keep stakeholders informed on status and updates.
  • Coordinate and conduct telephonic and in-person interviews.
  • Assess technical depth through structured interviews to understand candidate capabilities.
  • Cultivate top-tier candidates to generate new business leads and boost placements.
  • Apply independent judgment in evaluating, hiring, and coaching temporary staff, including removal when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Sales Account Executives to advise on workforce solutions, client needs, and market trends.
  • Proactively develop and manage multi-vertical talent pipelines.
  • Utilize the ATS and other tools to improve candidate flow and utilization.
  • Manage the full candidate lifecycle, ensuring visibility of flow, status, and redeployment.
  • Foster relationships with candidates so their preference is to work with UCP across active, on assignment, and passive candidates.
  • Coordinate transitions at end of assignments.
  • Act as UCP's liaison with workforce programs and agencies, building partnerships with DWS, job fairs, vocational rehab, trade schools, and veterans services.
  • Represent UCP at community events, networking opportunities, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic community partner to raise brand visibility and market reputation.
  • Attend after-hours events as needed to support outreach and recruiting efforts.
  • Maintain honesty and respect in all interactions.
  • Prepare weekly payroll timecards for the employee workforce.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of UCP services and the competitive landscape.
  • Generate leads via referrals and platforms such as Indeed and LinkedIn, using them as sales tools.
  • Meet or exceed weekly recruiting KPIs.
  • Coordinate weekly recruiting activities through the CRM, including onboarding, job orders, tasks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and execute strategic recruiting plans aligned with market challenges and workforce trends.
  • Analyze hiring trends and workforce data to refine recruitment strategies and optimize pipelines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on local labor markets and compensation trends, guiding internal stakeholders.
  • Recommend process improvements and contribute to recruitment policy development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent business experience.
  • Spanish and English bilingual required.
  • 1 to 2 years recruiting experience or strong willingness to learn.
  • Experience in staffing recruitment, especially construction or light industrial, highly preferred.
  • High sense of urgency and self-confidence.
  • Ability to work in a quota-driven environment.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Energetic self-starter who can lead and achieve recruiting goals.
  • Ability to work independently and make substantive decisions for the company and its clients.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills; capable of planning and executing projects with minimal supervision.

  • Work location: In person
  • Hours: Regular office hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday; nights and weekends may be required based on business needs

Hours, Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Regular office hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required based on business needs

  • Lifting requirements: regularly up to 25 pounds, occasionally more than 50 pounds
