Talent Acquisition Specialist
Job Description
United Mortgage Lending is expanding its hiring engine and is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support recruitment for key roles across the mortgage lending organization. This onsite position in Troy, MI focuses on attracting qualified candidates, managing the recruiting experience end-to-end, and strengthening industry relationships that help the team build consistent hiring pipelines.
In this role, you will source both passive and active talent, conduct pre-screening, and help candidates understand United Mortgage Lending’s compensation model, products, support, technology, leadership, and company culture throughout the full recruiting cycle.
What you’ll do
- Source passive talent using multiple platforms, including LinkedIn, Indeed, the existing talent database, and the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Review applications from active talent for approved positions and support hiring decisions.
- Drive outreach through phone calls, texts, emails, LinkedIn InMails, referrals, networking events, and career fairs.
- Pre-screen candidates to confirm fit with job requirements and preferred qualifications.
- Explain United Mortgage Lending’s compensation model and relevant company attributes to prospective candidates.
- Manage the candidate experience from initial conversation through offer or rejection.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified talent for assigned positions and perform regular follow-up.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with loan officers and mortgage professionals.
- Stay connected with prospects through calls, texts, meetings, events, and networking.
- Develop and strengthen a referral network across the mortgage community.
- Assess candidate needs and hiring manager requirements to identify the best match for each specific position, manager, candidate, and the company overall.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree completed.
- 2+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing and screening passive and active candidates.
- Demonstrated understanding of labor laws as they relate to recruiting and hiring.
- Ability to build strong relationships with both candidates and hiring managers.
- Excellent communication skills, with professional ability to communicate by phone, in person, and in writing.
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage high-volume candidate outreach.
- Strong organization, follow-up skills, and ability to meet deadlines and goals.
- Preferred: experience recruiting mortgage loan officers, sales, business development, and mortgage operations roles.
- Preferred: understanding of the mortgage industry, including NMLS licensing, loan officer compensation, mortgage products, and producer motivations.

Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $75,000 per year.
