Construction Recruiter

Mac5 Construction is hiring a hands-on Construction Recruiter to support full-cycle recruiting across the commercial construction space. This is an onsite role in Irvine, CA, focused on building proactive talent pipelines and partnering closely with hiring managers and operations leaders.

You will own recruiting end-to-end, from sourcing through offer acceptance, with an emphasis on identifying strong passive candidates and sustaining long-term pipelines for hard-to-fill construction roles.

Role Overview

• Own the recruiting process from initial search through accepted offer, including candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and follow-up.
• Actively recruit candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed, industry networks, referrals, competitor research, resume databases, professional organizations, and direct outreach.
• Develop and maintain long-term pipelines for difficult-to-fill roles instead of restarting from scratch each time a position opens.
• Map the talent market continuously and identify high-performing professionals within mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, general contracting, and related construction organizations.
• Support the creation, organization, and maintenance of an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruiting processes.
• Build scalable recruiting infrastructure, including candidate database organization, recruiting workflows, candidate stages and disposition tracking, talent pools, recruiting templates, interview processes, recruiting metrics and reporting, pipeline reporting, source-of-hire tracking, and candidate follow-up systems.
• Partner directly with operations leaders and hiring managers to understand needs beyond what is written in job descriptions.
• Learn the business and projects, understand construction role differences, and act as a trusted recruiting partner to leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of recruiting experience (preferred)
• Strong recruiting experience in commercial construction
• Mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, MEP, or specialty contractor recruiting experience (strongly preferred)
• Proven success recruiting Project Managers, Project Engineers, Estimators, Engineers, Superintendents, and other construction professionals
• Strong experience sourcing passive candidates
• Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed Resume, ATS platforms, and other sourcing tools
• Experience building or improving ATS workflows and recruiting processes
• Strong understanding of full-cycle recruiting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable approaching candidates directly and building relationships
• Highly organized with strong follow-through
• Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously
• Ability to work independently without constant direction
• Comfort finding candidates who are not actively looking and generating interest to start conversations

Compensation and Location

• Pay: USD $75,000 - $100,000 per year
