Job Description
Mission Pet Health is seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition to lead end-to-end recruiting strategy and execution for a multi-site organization. In this role, you will build a data-driven recruiting function, own the recruiting funnel performance, and drive veterinarian submittal and start goals while partnering closely with senior leaders across the business.
What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 18 recruiting professionals across sourcing, coordination, and senior recruiting functions, creating a high-performance, data-driven culture.
- Set clear performance expectations and OKRs, holding the team accountable to submittal, offer, and start goals with emphasis on veterinarian hiring targets.
- Own and manage the Talent Acquisition budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and strong return on recruiting investment.
- Build career growth paths and succession plans within TA to retain top recruiting talent.
- Own the full recruiting funnel from applicant volume through screen, submittal, and offer, maintaining visibility into conversion rates at each stage.
- Use an analytical approach to funnel performance, identifying where conversion rates break down, determining root causes, and implementing targeted solutions.
- Build and maintain recruiting dashboards and KPI reporting to provide senior leadership real-time insight into pipeline health, time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and offer acceptance trends.
- Translate complex data into clear, executive-ready narratives and deliver evidence-based recommendations for strategy and resourcing.
- Use predictive modeling and historical trends to anticipate hiring demand and pipeline capacity needs.
- Drive veterinarian submittal and start goals across the Mission Pet Health clinic network as a primary accountability.
- Develop deep market knowledge of veterinary talent including compensation benchmarks, candidate availability, competitive positioning, and emerging sourcing channels.
- Design and execute multi-channel sourcing strategies such as veterinary schools, professional associations, passive outreach, and referral programs to sustain a veterinarian pipeline.
- Strengthen employer brand through relationships with veterinary professional associations, academic programs, and candidate communities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CHRO and senior leadership on talent market conditions, workforce planning, and recruiting effectiveness.
- Partner with operations, finance, and clinical leadership to develop and execute workforce plans aligned to clinic expansion and growth targets.
- Present recruiting insights, strategy, and performance results to executive leadership and influence talent decisions using data-backed recommendations.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Compensation, and Marketing to ensure a cohesive, compelling candidate experience and employer brand.
- Develop and implement multi-dimensional recruiting strategies to improve quality-of-hire, reduce time-to-fill, and scale with growth.
- Act as the internal subject-matter expert on recruiting technology, including ATS optimization (Avature preferred) and process automation to improve TA efficiency.
- Lead experiments such as A/B testing sourcing channels, interview processes, and candidate engagement approaches to measurably improve outcomes.
- Ensure all talent acquisition activities comply with applicable employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
