Job Description
Stevens Point Auto Center is seeking a Human Resource / Accounting Clerk onsite in Stevens Point, WI to manage payroll data processing, employee records, recruitment and onboarding, HR programs, compliance, and select accounting and reception tasks.
Responsibilities
- Review time sheets, time cards, and work charts to verify time data accuracy.
- Enter payroll information into the payroll system and confirm payroll accuracy; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare tax forms such as 1099s.
- Maintain employee records related to employment and payroll data.
- Source, interview, and onboard qualified applicants; collaborate with department managers to define required skills and competencies.
- Coordinate background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Lead new hire orientations.
- Administer routine HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave administration, disciplinary matters, investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, safety, and training and development.
- Respond to employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; refer complex or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.
- Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and review policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Stay current on HR trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including some accounting and reception tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
- Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
