Job Description
The Human Resource Manager will oversee HR operations across Byrne Dairy and Deli's multi-location network, coordinating recruitment, employee relations, compliance, payroll coordination, training, and workforce development.
Role Details
- Location: Weedsport, NY (onsite)
- Salary: USD 78,000 - 95,000 per year
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of Human Resource Management experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor the HR department team, guiding professional growth and performance
- Serve as the primary HR resource for district managers, store managers, and corporate leadership
- Foster a positive, professional, and employee-centric work environment
- Support senior leadership with organizational planning and workforce strategies
- Oversee company-wide recruiting for retail stores, food service, warehouse, bakery, and corporate roles
- Design recruiting strategies to address staffing needs across all locations
- Track hiring trends, turnover, staffing levels, and open positions
- Ensure job postings, interviews, onboarding, and hiring practices are conducted efficiently and consistently
- Handle employee relations matters including investigations, coaching, corrective action, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
- Provide guidance to managers on performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace concerns
- Ensure fair and consistent administration of company policies and procedures
- Support programs aimed at employee engagement and retention
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Adhere to wage and hour laws, leave administration, harassment prevention, workplace safety, and employment documentation requirements
- Maintain and update the employee handbook, policies, and HR procedures
- Oversee payroll administration in partnership with the Payroll Administrator
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist employees with benefit questions and coordinate enrollments and changes
- Monitor and report HR metrics including turnover, staffing levels, hiring progress, labor trends, and retention
- Analyze workforce data and provide recommendations to leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of Human Resource Management experience
- Experience supervising HR staff and managing multiple HR functions
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and recruiting platforms
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Multi-location retail, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to travel to store locations as needed
