Job Description

Pine Crest Health and Memory Care is seeking an on-site Human Resources Assistant to join its Merrill, Wisconsin team. This role supports the HR department with administrative and operational tasks, ensures adherence to employment laws, and helps promote CAPLICO values in daily operations. It offers a hands-on opportunity to influence talent processes, records management, and employee programs while building a career in human resources.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in talent acquisition workflows, including recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new staff.
  • Support orientation programs to ensure smooth transitions for new hires.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data entry with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Administer benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and workers' compensation.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues on performance management initiatives and employee evaluations.
  • Contribute to change management efforts and strategic planning within the organization.
  • Address employee relations matters and assist with conflict resolution as needed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing staff training and development initiatives.
  • Participate in affirmative action planning and succession planning activities.
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems, including Workday, for recruitment processes.
  • Collect data for HR metrics and reports to support workforce management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, OSHA regulations, and FMLA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in human resources management or administrative roles; familiarity with HR sourcing techniques is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labor law principles, including FMLA and OSHA regulations.
  • Project management skills to assist with multiple HR initiatives effectively.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Oracle HCM, Paychex, Dayforce, or similar systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media management for recruitment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP or Paylocity is advantageous.
  • Administrative experience that includes data collection and reporting capabilities.
