Job Description

The Human Resources Coordinator operates onsite in Madison, WI, providing essential support to HR operations. The role focuses on onboarding, DOT and file management, and offering HR guidance to supervisors, while backing recruiters and handling various HR programs to support profitable growth.

Responsibilities

The HR Coordinator supports the organization by delivering onboarding, file management, and HR guidance. Primary duties include:

  • prepares for and conducts new employee orientations both in-person and virtual for the organization;
  • managing the partnership with outside vender for all new, current, and past employee DOT files, random DOT drug screens, federal medical physicals and other DOT related tasks;
  • provides human resource guidance to supervisors and managers;
  • acts as a backup to the Recruiters in conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, pre-employment physicals and running MVR’s;
  • maintaining personnel and medical files;
  • assist with leave management form control and communication;
  • responsible for processing employee status changes;
  • acts as a backup to the HR Manager to report worker’s injuries to our workers compensation insurance provider;
  • assisting in wage and benefit surveys and performing special projects to enhance the services provided by the Human Resource Department.

Requirements

  • Three years or more experience plus a four-year degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of personal computing, including software products such as ADP, Windows, EXCEL, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make responsible decisions.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and high levels of confidentiality and personal integrity.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Personal Qualities: Must be a 'self-starter' and team player with a work ethic that can be described as 'always looking for ways to improve people, processes and systems'.
