Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Valley Health Team, Inc. is seeking an onsite Human Resources Generalist to coordinate HR services in Fresno, CA, focusing on recruitment, training, HR metrics, and reporting to help build a strong health center workforce.
Responsibilities
- Provide personnel and employee relations support across all Valley Health Team departments to address HR needs.
- Advise health center managers on personnel and recruitment matters to align with corporate goals.
- Lead the HR team by proactively assessing HR metrics and advising the Director on actions to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Assist the Director of HR in coordinating staff training and development initiatives.
- Support customer service objectives by delivering accurate information and handling inquiries appropriately.
- Compile HR reports as directed by the Director, gathering data and generating requested reports.
- Offer input on human relations issues as they arise and consult the Director on appropriate actions.
- Conduct employment verifications by phone or fax following established guidelines.
- Plan and oversee HR projects and activities to assist management in service delivery.
- Manage high volume recruitment: advertise, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and perform reference checks per policy.
- Identify qualified candidates for health center roles by shaping recruitment strategies and interview processes.
- Collaborate with supervisors to clearly establish job requirements and needs.
- Plan recruitment activities, analyze staffing needs and market trends, develop ads, evaluate applications, and administer examinations.
- Coordinate the new hire process as the point person for scheduling drug screens, physicals, and conducting orientation.
- Support new hires with timely information and onboarding schedules.
- May be required to work temporarily at satellite facilities.
- Assist other departments as needed while maintaining confidentiality of VHT information.
- Interact professionally with staff, patients, families, visitors, and external sources to deliver high level service.
- Observe and apply CICARE patient experience standards in all interactions and communications.
- Practice CICARE phone etiquette during all calls.
- Maintain courtesy and professionalism around patients, families, visitors, and coworkers.
- Respect privacy and dignity of patients, families, visitors, and coworkers.
- Demonstrate professionalism and positive leadership in daily operations.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and quality standards including Joint Commission, OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA.
- Support the practice by following policies, procedures, and applicable laws and standards.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business/Health Administration, Human Resources, or a closely related field.
- HR certificate or degree preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in Human Resources or administrative office settings preferred.
- Healthcare HR and employee relations experience preferred.
- Experience with nonprofit community health centers a plus.
- Ability to learn and integrate new computer applications into HR functions.
- Proven ability to recruit staff, including medical and dental providers.
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal employment and labor laws.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite with experience using HRIS systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with modern office practices and electronic communication.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

- Commitment to high quality standards and customer service.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work at all site locations.
- Own transportation, valid California driver's license, and current automobile insurance.
