Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Support the employee lifecycle in a hands-on HR Generalist role partnering with the HR Manager and department leaders.
Responsibilities
- Deliver full-cycle onboarding and orientation support, including new-hire processing, compliance administration, and facilitation of New Associate Orientation.
- Support associates across different stages of the employee lifecycle and connect them with appropriate HR resources.
- Maintain accurate employee databases, records, and reports.
- Answer routine associate questions related to organizational policies, procedures, benefits, and HR processes.
- Build positive working relationships and learn the needs of assigned business segments.
- Support the HR Manager with employee relations matters, including workplace investigations when concerns are raised.
- Partner on termination matters and conduct exit interviews as needed.
- Coordinate associate recognition and engagement activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational efficiency, associate education, and engagement.
- Assist with development and modification of training programs.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts on cross-functional projects and special assignments.
- Provide backup support across payroll, onboarding, benefits, talent acquisition, and compliance.
- As needed, review electronic timecards and support accurate, timely payroll processing.
- Help prepare HR reports and analytics to support leadership decision-making and strategic planning.
- Assist associates with benefits enrollment and vendor service questions.
- Support DOT processing and maintain file management.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Communicate relevant workplace updates to assigned client groups as appropriate.
- Contribute to the organization’s mission by completing other duties as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
- Work model flexes between corporate support and time embedded within operations.
- Travel locally within Southeast Georgia is expected, approximately 25% to 50% per month, to support the workforce.
- Occasional weekend work may be required for special events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or proven direct experience with independent proficiency across HR functional areas).
- Minimum 3 years of progressive, related HR experience, including talent acquisition, payroll, benefits, and employee relations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a professional demeanor with associates.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, conflict resolution, and organizational influence skills.
- Ability to create and analyze trends and metrics for assigned client groups.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under the organization’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Ability to travel throughout the Southeast Georgia Territory.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, grasp, push pull, and lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

Location: Savannah, GA (hybrid). Pay: USD 24 to 25 per hour.
