Human Resources (HR) Generalist NISSC II
Job Description
This on-site HR Generalist role supports the NORAD program in Colorado Springs on a six-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The position manages onboarding, Workday HRIS administration, employee relations, and other general HR duties for roughly 350 employees across multiple Colorado Springs locations.
Responsibilities
- Support the NORAD government contract, a workforce of about 350 employees distributed across several sites, primarily in the Colorado Springs region.
- Own end-to-end onboarding processes for new hires, deliver New Hire Orientation, and ensure timely collection of I-9 forms and related actions.
- Oversee the Workday HRIS, including entry and approval of new hires and initiation and approval of employee actions while maintaining data integrity.
- Provide guidance and leadership to line managers and program management.
- Respond to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage employee relations and investigations as needed.
- Coach and support managers and employees to address HR matters effectively.
- Lead program-specific initiatives addressing program needs.
- Act as liaison between employees and corporate benefits and payroll departments.
- Prepare reports for analysis and distribution, ensuring accuracy of employee data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three or more years of direct experience in Human Resources.
- Demonstrated hands-on HR Generalist experience.
- Proven experience in assessing and resolving a variety of employee relations issues.
- Knowledge of HR laws and disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office professional software.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems.
- Ability to obtain an active DoW Secret Security Clearance.
