Job Description

Lead the credit union’s full-cycle people operations, from hiring and training through compensation, benefits, and compliant employee records.

Responsibilities

  • Screen applicants by conducting phone interviews and schedule in-person interviews
  • Maintain employment and credential records and coordinate organization-wide certifications (including NMLS, Notary, CSP, Integrity Coaching and Selling, Rex Johnson loan training, and others as applicable)
  • Develop and coordinate a new hire process for all positions
  • Coordinate staff training throughout the year, including product webinars, on-site training, and annual all staff training
  • Design, update, and manage written and online training materials
  • Conduct training needs assessments and evaluate employee survey results to determine training programs and organizational issues to address
  • Create and distribute employee engagement content via email, newsletters, and the intranet
  • Promote and enforce service standards across the organization
  • Coordinate payroll, training, and licensing for the Best Financial Insurance Agency
  • Manage scheduling and documentation for the Weekly Connect staff training initiative
  • Partner with department managers to create and maintain training checklists, updating them as products and services change
  • Coordinate the orientation and training of all new employees
  • Work with the leadership team to build human resources skills needed for day-to-day operations
  • Oversee compensation programs to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Administer employee payroll and ensure accurate, timely remittance to employees, third-party vendors, and government agencies for payroll, benefits, and taxes
  • Administer benefit programs, including: health, retirement, death, disability, flex spending accounts, and unemployment
  • Administer paid time off programs: sick time, personal time, bereavement time, jury duty, holiday, employee engagement, paid parental leave, and vacation time
  • Maintain the accuracy of the employee time off calendar and assist with employee scheduling as needed
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefit programs
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of individual development plans for all employees
  • Assist in building 90-day action plan goals, employee reviews, and strategic goal setting
  • Develop and implement a progressive warning system and oversee employee discipline for regulatory compliance and standardized processes
  • Coordinate the credit union’s fundraising efforts with community charities
  • Evaluate HR procedures and technology solutions to improve human resource data management
  • Ensure the integrity and security of employment records
  • Assess organizational culture and provide recommendations and action items aligned with company goals
  • Recommend and establish HR and training policies and procedures
  • Create, revise, and retire job descriptions and classified ad content as needed
  • Manage classified ads on the corporate website and employee search engines, including college job boards and local media
  • Oversee incentive program(s) to verify accuracy and ensure incentives are paid via payroll
  • Manage the employee recognition platform
  • Monitor and enforce employee apparel branding standards (BFCU/BFIA)
  • Coordinate ongoing employee engagement initiatives, including employee events, surveys, and committees such as Health and Wellness
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate (Preferred)
  • SHRM or HR Certification (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Human resources management: 1 year (Preferred)
