Job Description

The Onboarding Specialist, HR at Kraft Heinz Champaign plant oversees site onboarding and internal job bidding administration, delivering a streamlined onboarding experience to accelerate productivity and align new hires with organizational goals. Compensation is USD 34 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding for all new hires, from pre-employment coordination through orientation, system setup, and integration into the business.
  • Oversee the Champaign site onboarding program, maintaining records, documentation, communications, schedules, and ongoing process improvements.
  • Coordinate onboarding logistics across preboarding, orientation, first-day readiness, and 90-day onboarding support.
  • Administer the plant's internal job postings and bidding, including posting positions, validating eligibility, documenting actions, communicating with stakeholders, and tracking movement.
  • Design and implement onboarding programs aligned with company goals and culture, supporting talent development and retention initiatives with ongoing enhancements.
  • Create standardized onboarding frameworks that accommodate the needs of various roles and departments.
  • Monitor onboarding metrics, identify trends, and deliver insights to enhance onboarding effectiveness, first-year retention, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with production leadership, HR, technical subject matter experts, and global L&D functions to create a cohesive onboarding experience that fosters belonging, readiness, and retention.
  • Drive continuous improvement by collecting feedback, conducting post-onboarding evaluations, and proposing iterative enhancements.
  • Ensure accurate updates to employee movement data in HR systems and tracking tools for internal bidding, including job, shift, manager, pay, labor, and other required changes.
  • Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and support the implementation of best practices for onboarding, employee movement, and HR process execution.
  • Establish professional relationships and provide timely communication, follow-up, and support to leaders, employees, and cross-functional partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership to support the team.

Requirements

  • Ability to read work instructions, complete status forms in English, and communicate with the supervisor.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong time-management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Accountability and reliability; able to follow directions and complete tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organization and keen attention to detail.
  • Solid technical aptitude with the ability to learn and effectively use HR systems and related tools.
  • Proficiency in managing data, trackers, records, and HR system transactions with accuracy.
  • Good judgment and decision-making, escalating issues outside the scope to the supervisor.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules as required.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to avoid and identify errors.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
