Job Description
Part-time Talent Acquisition Recruiter at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV (hybrid) supports full lifecycle recruitment, sourcing, and partnering with hiring leaders to meet campus hiring needs.
Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with leaders to accurately capture business needs and proactively support designated client areas.
- Provide end-to-end talent acquisition services, including sourcing, recruitment, and full lifecycle hiring for roles across WVU campuses.
- Apply established sourcing methods, passive candidate strategies, and social platforms to proactively build and maintain talent networks.
- Leverage market data, vendor relationships, and diverse sourcing channels along with current technology to rapidly develop and sustain external talent pipelines.
- Maintain current expertise in social media, sourcing strategies, search techniques, and tools.
- Offer guidance to leaders on all aspects of the recruitment and hiring process.
- Manage the end-to-end hiring process from kickoff to final offer, ensuring a positive, high-touch experience for leaders and candidates.
- Lead consultative intake meetings for new roles, in person or virtually.
- Support training for client groups on search techniques, recruiting processes, and best practices.
- Deliver weekly search status updates, assess risks, and drive solution-oriented results.
- Conduct initial screening, verify qualifications, and align salary expectations.
- Oversee the interview process to ensure candidates are thoroughly vetted before presentation.
- Respond promptly to interview scheduling requests.
- Create interview guides.
- Debrief with interview panelists to gather feedback.
- Provide timely feedback to candidates.
- Assist leaders in determining appropriate salary offers, coordinating with Classification and Compensation as needed.
- Maintain accurate, compliant records in the Applicant Tracking System.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields include Human Resources, Industrial/Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related areas.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in talent acquisition, sourcing, and recruitment.
- Experience executing strategic recruitment plans.
- Experience with ATS systems, job promotion, and sourcing tools; familiarity with Workday Recruiting, LinkedIn, and Indeed preferred.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and practices.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- All minimum qualifications must be met at the time of hire.
- Excellent organization and presentation skills.
- Proactive, independent, and able to take initiative.
- Strong public communication skills for representing WVU to diverse business, educational, and community partners.
- Excellent time management and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to build effective relationships with team members, leaders, and candidates.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn internal HRIS and talent management systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate university needs.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR certification preferred.
