Sr. Human Resources Business Partner
Job Description
Sr. Human Resources Business Partner will provide HR expertise to business functions, departments, managers, and employees across people priorities, HR programs, and day-to-day HR support.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the HR Manager and the business to implement critical global and regional HR projects and key local initiatives.
- Manage recruitment and selection for all positions in coordination with the Talent Acquisition team (screening, interviews, aptitude tests, references, medicals, offers).
- Prepare contracts of employment for M1 level hires and below.
- Own employee induction and onboarding, ensuring robust induction and role-specific training plans for new hires.
- Support department managers with training for new hires via Connect 2 West and with promotions and talent development through the LMS.
- Support the monthly payroll and related employee queries.
- Liaise with the Payroll Specialist, managers, employees, and the payroll provider.
- Support the design of compensation and benefit arrangements.
- Provide HR support to employees, managers, and the Payroll Specialist.
- Ensure required employee briefings are delivered on company benefits.
- Guide managers in managing employee performance issues, supporting both handling and escalation for performance.
- Lead and deliver the monthly HR management review with SLT and next-level managers, supported by the HR Manager.
- Support the annual performance management process in WTG by assisting with employee queries and tracking and driving completion rates.
- Support identification and development of talent for succession planning and career path development.
- Design and run HR communication sessions aligned to the HR calendar (performance reviews, comp planning, succession planning, engagement, recognition, etc.).
- Support site training through the LMS, including established training curricula/matrix for each role.
- Support development of training material, competency-based assessments, and any required requalification processes to meet training deliverables and competency expectations.
- Drive employee engagement activities and initiatives, including key actions identified by the site.
- Schedule and facilitate quarterly focus groups with employee groups to identify and drive actions that support employee engagement.
- Design, develop, and continuously update key HR guides, including the Employee Handbook, Careers guide, Benefit booklet, and Manager Toolkit, plus other HR-owned guides.
- Conduct monthly meetings with managers to ensure HR addresses team needs and supports HR initiatives.
- Attend Tier 3 meetings and HR Tier meetings weekly.
- Maintain and continuously improve HR software systems, including liaison with relevant software suppliers and corporate IT (e.g., SAP HC, ADP, WTG, HR SharePoint).
- Coordinate and/or support HR and business initiatives (e.g., Employee Wellness, Investors in People, West without borders).
- Provide monthly reporting of key HR KPI data and employee metrics.
- Act as a change agent.
- Lead and demonstrate corporate social responsibility through corporate and local initiatives.
- Operate in line with the company’s Guiding Principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.
- Ensure compliance with local site Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in human resource management, legal, or related field (required).
- 5+ years experience in an HR Generalist role with emphasis on employee engagement.
- Experience supporting employees and managers through engagement, communications, and front line/first line support.
- Experience in negotiating and influencing managers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with staff at all organization levels.
- Stakeholder management experience.
- Experience operating in a continuous process improvement environment.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines with high quality output.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-starter with proactive, independent work style.
- Strong IT competence.
- SHRM-SCP preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Sedentary work with occasional exertion up to 10 lbs / 4 kg force, and/or negligible force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects (including the human body).
- Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Location: Kinston, NC, US (onsite). Minimum experience: 5 years.
