Talent Acquisition Specialist
Job Description
At Baxter and Woodman Inc, a Talent Acquisition Specialist is sought to lead full-cycle recruiting on site in Crystal Lake, IL. The role collaborates with hiring managers and HR to attract and assess top talent for openings across Bannockburn, Crystal Lake, and Naperville, ensuring a smooth candidate journey from initial contact through to the offer.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for assigned positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and guiding the selection process.
- Work with hiring managers to define workforce needs, draft job descriptions, and design effective recruitment strategies.
- Source candidates through a mix of traditional and innovative channels such as job boards, social media, networking, referrals, career fairs, and community partnerships.
- Leverage the applicant tracking system (ATS) to identify and engage passive candidates for open roles.
- Conduct initial assessments to evaluate qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
- Coordinate interview scheduling, maintain clear communication with the hiring team, and follow up with candidates to keep processes moving smoothly.
- Maintain accurate, compliant candidate records within the ATS.
- Build and sustain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions.
- Collaborate with external staffing agencies and recruitment vendors as needed.
- Support the offer process by preparing offer letters and communicating compensation, benefits, and employment terms.
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings, including background checks.
- Ensure recruiting practices comply with federal and state employment laws, including EEO and affirmative action requirements.
- Assist with employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing to boost visibility and attract high-quality candidates.
- Provide data and insights on recruiting metrics and trends, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Support HR projects and initiatives related to talent acquisition and workforce planning.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of full-cycle recruitment experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel to Baxter and Woodman’s regional offices with own transportation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Ability to handle highly confidential HR information with discretion.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Compensation
The pay range for this role is USD 57,000 - 70,000 per year. Actual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
