Bilingual Human Resources Supervisor
Job Description
Bilingual Human Resources Supervisor will lead day-to-day HR operations and support managers across recruiting, performance management, and employee relations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Human Resources activities to ensure completion in line with company policies and procedures, plus all Federal, State, and local legal requirements
- Coach managers on performance management actions; support corrective action memo writing and related documentation
- Attend and/or run corrective action sessions and manage follow-up as needed
- Advise managers and supervisors on state and federal regulations and effective HR practices for employee-related matters
- Coordinate recruitment for salaried (exempt and non-exempt) roles, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing
- Ensure offers follow established procedures and are available in Workday
- Complete new hire paperwork accurately and conduct salaried new hire orientation, covering policies and benefit options
- Assess performance issues, training needs, and career development opportunities, then recommend next steps
- Deliver HR-related training (including performance counseling and employee relations topics)
- Research employee complaints and grievances where applicable and take appropriate steps toward resolution
- Compile required data and reports (including CERP, Retention, and other required reporting) and share with the appropriate personnel in a timely manner
- Administer the NOCTI program, including testing, score recording, promotions, and subsequent pay increases based on passing levels
- Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
- Mentor, coach, and train or cross-train team members; provide consistent feedback on strengths and areas for improvement
- Promote safety initiatives and help maintain a zero-accident culture (including wearing appropriate PPE where required)
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution preferred
- May substitute a combination of education and experience for the degree
- Minimum 2 years progressively responsible HR experience, with emphasis on employment, employee relations, and/or benefits
- 1 year demonstrated leadership experience, including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, conflict resolution, and issue resolution efficiently and effectively; supervising employees preferred
- Effective communication in English (verbal and written) with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Ability to work effectively with others; tact and discretion; high level of confidentiality in all matters
- Strong computer skills: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; experience with HCM systems such as Workday preferred
- Self-starter with strong initiative and urgency; ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual English and Spanish with native-level proficiency in Spanish
