Job Description

State Street is seeking a strategic Head of Talent Acquisition for the COO, Wealth & Alpha organizations. This global leadership role shapes hiring strategy, directs a worldwide recruiting team, and emphasizes performance, diversity, and cost discipline across essential business lines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee experienced hiring across the COO, Wealth, and Alpha business groups.
  • Define and execute hiring strategies for a substantial portion of the firm’s global workforce.
  • Lead a global recruiting organization to deliver high-quality outcomes across the full hiring lifecycle, using data and performance metrics to drive pace, quality, and cost discipline while advancing diversity and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with Senior HR Business Partners and executive leadership to set global functional priorities, develop robust hiring strategies, and ensure top-tier execution across regions and functions.
  • Work with Hiring Managers and Senior HR Business Partners to assess staffing needs and craft comprehensive hiring plans, advising on talent needs to expand the pipeline.
  • Advise senior business leaders on evolving talent acquisition trends as a subject matter expert.
  • Execute hiring strategies to position the firm competitively and attract top-tier talent, reinforcing State Street as an employer of choice.
  • Partner with the Head of Talent Mobility & Internal Recruiting to maximize internal talent pools as part of sourcing strategies.
  • Apply innovative sourcing methods to broaden the talent pool, reduce time-to-offer, and optimize external vendor costs.
  • Lead and manage an international team of recruiters, fostering high performance and productivity.
  • Engage stakeholders to review recruiting progress, share competitive intelligence, and continually refine talent needs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as time-to-offer and aged requisitions, and implement action plans to resolve challenges and deliver best-in-class services.
  • Maintain a selective portfolio of critical senior roles, balancing leadership duties with hands-on contribution.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading talent acquisition in a global, complex organization with a strong track record hiring for technology, data, and wealth management roles; proficiency with HR technologies (e.g., Workday, applicant tracking systems) and their use to improve hiring outcomes; demonstrated ability to partner across organizational and geographic boundaries.
  • In-house talent acquisition background within financial services or similarly regulated, complex environments is preferred; effective communication with candidates, hiring managers, recruiters, and HR partners.
  • Proven leadership history with success in talent development and team management.

USD 170,000 - 267,500 per year
