Job Description

Impact Bio is hiring a Human Resource Coordinator to help run the employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding. This full-time U.S.-based role is remote and focuses on keeping HR operations running smoothly, maintaining accurate HRIS records, and supporting employees and leaders with day-to-day HR needs.

Based in Columbia, SC (remote), the position coordinates documentation, orientation activities, HR reporting, and HR-related inquiries while partnering with the HR team to improve the employee experience.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate the full new hire onboarding process, including preparing, distributing, tracking, and following up on employment documentation
  • Work with HR team members to deliver an onboarding experience that is engaging and consistent for every new hire
  • Communicate with employees, managers, and internal stakeholders regarding onboarding status, employment documentation, and HR-related inquiries
  • Facilitate electronic completion of employment documents, company policies, and acknowledgements
  • Schedule and support new hire orientation
  • Maintain employee records and ensure accurate documentation within the HRIS
  • Generate recurring HR reports and help maintain employee data integrity
  • Respond to employee questions and direct inquiries related to payroll, benefits, HR policies, and other employment matters
  • Assist managers and HR leadership with performance management activities, employee communications, and personnel documentation
  • Coordinate employee offboarding, including exit interviews and separation documentation
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee experience
  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department as needed

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred)
  • Previous administrative experience required; Human Resources experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with HRIS platforms is a plus
  • Strong organization with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, comfortable working independently in a remote environment
