Job Description
Union Orthotics & Prosthetics Co. offers a supportive, team‑driven environment where organized, detail‑oriented professionals help both our employees and patients thrive. This onsite, full‑time Human Resources Assistant/Administrative Assistant role supports the HR Manager with recruiting, onboarding, benefits enrollment, training and compliance, and serves as an internal IT liaison for company IT needs and general administrative support. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with an hourly rate of $18.00 to $23.00.
Responsibilities
- Support managers with recruitment activities, post vacancies, and prepare job offers
- Facilitate onboarding and new‑hire orientation
- Coordinate setup of new hires' equipment, phone lines, and email accounts
- Manage employee benefits administration and annual open enrollment
- Coordinate and track annual compliance training and assist with learning materials for training
- Maintain employment records and personnel files
- Address HR related issues and provide timely resolution
- Serve as internal liaison to the external IT contractor, supporting IT needs, communications systems, and other administrative functions
Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent listening and problem‑solving abilities with a calm, caring approach
- Comfortable learning and supporting technology systems
- Strong time management, organization, and the ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid critical thinking abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive and complex issues confidentially and professionally
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
