Human Resources Associate (Hybrid)
Job Description
Based in Minneapolis with a hybrid work arrangement, this role supports Barr Engineering Co.'s Corporate HR team in recruiting, onboarding, and HR operations, coordinating interview schedules, new employee orientation, and HR data management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate candidate interviews and travel logistics as needed; post openings on the company site and targeted outlets; complete pre-employment verifications and background checks; facilitate first-day orientation; support new hire integration.
- Create and maintain new hire records in the HRIS and ensure accurate candidate and employee files.
- Develop and update HR process documentation; assist with process improvements and special projects; support university outreach, campus recruiting, and internship programs.
- Manage internal HR processes and administrative tasks, including activities such as business card administration; assist with voluntary and involuntary terminations.
- Support HR data analysis, metrics, and reporting as part of the analytics function.
Requirements
- Associate degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience delivering high quality client service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

About the Opportunity
The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and is based in Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota office.
Compensation
Anticipated hourly range is $24.00 to $27.00. Final compensation will reflect relevant experience, education, skills, and other factors. Eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This role is classified as non-exempt (hourly) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Helpful Additional Experience (Not Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
- Experience working in a human resources environment.
- Experience with Outlook meeting scheduling.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and Excel.
- Knowledge of laws related to recruiting and hiring.
- Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems, preferably Workday.
