Human Resources Compliance Administrator
Job Description
The Human Resources Compliance Administrator role at Gila County, based in Globe, AZ, onsite, focuses on workers' compensation, safety programs, and HR training.
Responsibilities
- Interpret questions about workers' compensation, safety, and other HR matters by reviewing rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for County employees, Elected Officials, Department Directors, and the public.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Arizona Counties Insurance Pool (ACIP) for safety and workers' compensation programs; coordinate document collection, assess findings, propose solutions to incidents, guide immediate medical care when needed, and maintain all related records and databases.
- Act as a direct contact with the Arizona Department of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) for the County's Public Entity Protection Program (PEPP).
- Develop and implement safety and health policies, procedures, programs, and plans to ensure compliance with ADOSH, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Analyze and report data required by ACIP, OSHA, ADOSH, the U.S. Department of Labor BLS, and other agencies; prepare formal reports.
- Oversee the online employee training program, assign courses, manage data, monitor progress, and prepare compliance reports; deliver in-person training on workers' comp, safety, health, and HR topics.
- Support training components of the County's Commercial Driver's License (CDL) program to meet federal and state regulatory requirements for the Public Works Department.
- Conduct research and prepare statistical and administrative reports related to workers' compensation and employee safety activities.
- Coordinate and compile data for ACIP's annual insurance renewal of County-owned property and assets.
- Oversee, coordinate, and prepare required Certificates of Insurance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Allocate project resources for organizational development, HR initiatives, process improvement, and employee training and development projects.

- Train colleagues, explain County procedures, respond to public inquiries, participate in meetings, negotiate or persuade, and deliver presentations.
Written Communication Duties
- Create or edit documents, internal memos, emails, safety procedures, guidelines, compliance manuals, formal letters, and reports.
Interactions with the General Public
- Interact extensively with employees, customers, the general public, vendors, regulatory bodies, and other groups in person, by phone, or by email.
Interactions Specifically with Customers
- Frequency: More than 55% but less than 70% of the year.
