Job Description

Onsite in Decatur, IL, Macon Resources, Inc is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator with a salary range of $22-$29 per hour, a minimum of one year of HR-related experience, and a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, development, rollout, and assessment of department specific development days, core training and orientation, refresher training, and job specific training.
  • Collect data to design training curricula and organize training materials for easy retrieval.
  • Plan and share training schedules, coordinating time, location, and speakers to meet established timelines.
  • Arrange pre registered trainings (CPR, First Aid, Safety Care, etc.); handle follow up documentation and billing for CPR/First Aid; alert the Program/Department Director of any no shows.
  • Prepare training spaces with handouts, sign in sheets, presentation aids, equipment, evaluations, and other tools in a timely manner.
  • Maintain training records and paperwork for regulatory approvals in the DHS database and related systems; issue certificates for DSP, 40 hour DSP, QIDP CEUs, and Safety Care as required.
  • Prepare and submit billing information for trainings including DSP, QIDP 40 hour, QIDP CEUs, and Medication Administration training to the appropriate DHS offices.
  • Periodically review and propose improvements to the training curriculum; collect ongoing input from MRI staff via surveys and feedback for the Employee Development Committees.
  • Coordinate new hire 90 day feedback surveys, annual engagement surveys for all staff, and exit surveys; design, collect, analyze, and report results to leadership.
  • Support Benefits/Recruitment Coordinator with recruiting exempt, nonexempt, and temporary staff in designated departments.
  • Build relationships with schools, universities, and associations; participate in community awareness activities and events; represent the agency at selected job fairs.
  • Write and post job openings; collaborate with Marketing to advertise on social media; distribute employment information within the community as needed.
  • Pre screen applicants to confirm qualifications; assist supervisors with pre interviews, reference checks, and credential verification.
  • Administer the TABE test to all direct care applicants.
  • Schedule interviews, extend job offers, and coordinate start dates.
  • Share information about the benefits program to educate new hires and support current employees.
  • Monitor retention activities as a member of the Employee Development Committee; coordinate wellness activities including the annual wellness fair.
  • Oversee the performance evaluation process; ensure 90 day evaluations are completed on time and assist with annual evaluations as needed.
  • Compile and summarize HR data on openings, hiring, training topics and participation; produce reports for Quality Assurance; retrieve additional information as requested by HR leadership.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve department efficiency and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Business Management, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered; two years of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education; at least one year in an HR related role is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred; potential to pursue instructor eligibility.
  • One year of experience with knowledge of applicable personnel administration laws.
  • Strong public relations and training skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of private and public organizations and effectively represent the agency in the community.
  • Ability to work with a moderate level of supervision; demonstrate accuracy, dependability, initiative, organization, and timeliness.
  • Capable of maintaining confidential payroll, financial, personnel, and client information in accordance with the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act and agency policies.
  • Reliable transportation for agency duties; valid Illinois driver’s license, good motor vehicle record, and current auto insurance meeting specified coverage levels (Bodily Injury Liability per Person $50,000; Liability per Accident $100,000; Property Liability $100,000; Medical Payments $5,000; Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist $100,000; Accident $300,000).
  • Ability to complete MRI training requirements.
  • Adaptability to frequent change and the ability to manage unexpected issues; make sound administrative or business judgments in daily and emergency situations.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds; stand or sit for extended periods; full range of mobility; vision with depth and color perception; hand-eye coordination; hearing; and effective communication.
  • Ability to counsel, advise, teach, resolve conflicts, and direct employees.
  • Strong ability to summarize, synthesize, and analyze data.
  • Effective and diplomatic communication skills in both oral and written forms; comfort interacting with the public.
  • Familiarity with relevant HR technologies and regulatory requirements.
