Human Resources Specialist - Training & Recruiting
Job Description
US Engine Valve is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support the plant by owning recruiting, training records, HRMS/HRIS maintenance, and key people programs. This onsite role in Westminster, SC blends talent acquisition work with ongoing HR administration, including EEO-aligned policies, training coordination, and facility wellness and diversity initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for both exempt and non-exempt roles.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop job requirements and recruiting strategies.
- Source candidates using job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future staffing needs.
- Implement and administer policies and procedures aligned with the plant’s EEO policy.
- Provide guidance on labor market trends and best practices.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system and ensure recruiting records and documentation are complete.
- Develop and administer new employee orientation.
- Assist with HR programs and procedures for all company employees, and support special projects as needed.
- Handle Attendance, Vacation, Gainsharing, and FMLA administration, including weekly tracking, quarterly audits, and accurate payouts of quarterly Gainsharing.
- Track recruiting metrics and maintain HRIS/HRMS for the Human Resources function.
- Coordinate and manage training records, evaluate progress, and ensure training timeline and documentation are maintained.
- Maintain the training matrix for production.
- Research and implement HRMS system enhancements, troubleshoot system errors, and provide specialized reporting and user training.
- Support the HR Manager in developing, implementing, and administering HR policies and programs that support plant business objectives.
- Support employees across recruitment, EEO, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
- Maintain confidentiality and prepare HR documents, records, and statistics as part of core HR administration.
- Answer general HR questions and inquiries, and complete required special assignments.
- Lead facility Wellness and Diversity Initiatives and support affirmative action and DEI efforts.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in human resources or a related field (preferred).
- 1 to 2 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, and sourcing.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in training and record keeping.
