Job Description

The Recruiter, Talent Acquisition role supports the Operations Talent Acquisition team by staffing American Airlines Airport positions in Fort Worth, TX. This contract position is onsite and includes frequent domestic travel to hiring events where on-the-spot job offers may be extended.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support operational readiness by ensuring American Airlines Airport roles are staffed to meet business needs.
  • Partner with multiple hiring managers to understand staffing requirements and align recruitment plans accordingly.
  • Travel to domestic hiring locations multiple times per month, including weekends at times, to support on-site recruitment activities.
  • Lead thorough intake sessions to clarify staffing needs, responsibilities, and role requirements, and ensure job descriptions accurately reflect knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Proactively source candidates using job boards, social media, and networking resources.
  • Advise hiring managers on behavioral interviewing practices and facilitate selection process discussions to help ensure effective and legally compliant interviewing.
  • Maintain a positive internal and external applicant experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Influence the overall hiring process to support timeliness and maintain alignment on hiring agreements.
  • Handle talent acquisition needs and inquiries from business leaders, hiring managers, and TA leadership.
  • Provide accurate, timely updates on applicant activity and track talent acquisition metrics, reporting trends and issues to TA leadership with improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain current applicant records in the applicant tracking system to support reporting and analysis.
  • Strengthen cross-functional partnerships with business stakeholders, hiring managers, and other talent acquisition teams.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors involved in hiring by providing guidance on union contracts, validating pay scales, following up on requisition statuses, and supporting process approvals.
  • Participate in recurrent business calls with leaders to review high-volume hiring activity, including strategy and updates.
  • Coordinate closely with Legal, Labor, and other stakeholders to support recruiting activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience and training.
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in a recruiting function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High-volume recruiting experience, particularly within a unionized environment.
  • Experience conducting competency-based interviews.
  • Reporting experience related to Talent Acquisition performance and metrics.
  • Experience using SuccessFactors or other enterprise ATS systems, including Taleo and iCIMS.
  • Experience collaborating with RPO partners.
  • Experience organizing and conducting hiring events.
  • Airline experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to build credibility and partner with leaders to identify talent gaps, needs, risk, and action plans.
  • Customer orientation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of employment law and corporate recruitment practices.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to think strategically with sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of workforce planning (forecasting, identifying needs, skills, locations, and behaviors) is a plus.
