Job Description

Quanex is hiring a Recruiter for a temporary assignment of approximately 90 days to support its Talent Acquisition team. This onsite role in Houston, TX focuses on sourcing, attracting, and scheduling competitive hourly candidates for Quanex’s US manufacturing plants in partnership with hiring managers and HR/TA stakeholders.

Role Summary

The Recruiter will collaborate with hiring leaders to understand staffing needs and execute recruiting strategies aligned to those requirements. The position will also manage an active candidate pipeline, provide status updates throughout the process, and support continuous improvement of recruiting outcomes across multiple manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements and design recruitment strategies tailored to each team.
  • Source, attract, and schedule competitive hourly candidates for Quanex manufacturing locations.
  • Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline for manufacturing roles, including production and administrative positions.
  • Maintain candidate engagement by sharing application status, interview outcomes, and next steps.
  • Communicate regularly with HR and hiring managers, providing updates on recruiting progress, obstacles, and required strategy adjustments.
  • Monitor industry trends, recruiting best practices, and changes affecting talent acquisition in manufacturing.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve the recruitment process and attract high-quality candidates.
  • Lead hiring efforts across multiple US manufacturing sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Proven experience as a recruiter, with experience in manufacturing or related industries.
  • Familiarity with recruiting techniques and tools, including applicant tracking systems (ATS) and social media platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills to manage multiple candidates and tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
