Job Description

Recruiting Manager at STEM Preparatory Academy is a talent acquisition leadership role based in Nashville, TN (onsite), focused on recruiting, selecting, and retaining teachers and leaders across the network.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Managing Director of Human Resources to design and implement a strategic recruiting and selection plan for teachers and leaders
  • Oversee and refine the selection process to ensure a positive, equitable, smooth, and inspiring experience for candidates and current staff
  • Review one-way video interviews, recommend next steps to school teams, and manage the candidate pipeline through reminders and follow-ups
  • Design, build, and maintain the hiring process for new and open positions
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential candidates using nurture campaigns
  • Evaluate candidates using submitted materials, interviews, and site visit demonstrations; advise teams on strengths, gaps, and aspirations
  • Participate in the selection and hiring of future teachers while supporting high retention
  • Research and attend job fairs, mock interviews, and other career events
  • Support the HR Coordinator with online content and communications, including maintaining relevant school website pages and social media accounts
  • Collaborate with network leaders to support the design, development, and delivery of professional development for leaders and teachers tied to ambitious student goals
  • Support the Chief People Officer in building partnerships with teacher training institutions, including: Teach for America, Relay Graduate School of Education, and Nashville Teacher Residency
  • Build strong rapport with ATS and HRIS platform representatives and stay current on developments in the field
  • Partner with the HR Coordinator to maintain records related to teacher licensure status as needed
  • Help implement a recognition system that rewards talent aligned to strategic goals
  • Collaborate with network and school leadership to organize events or programs that recognize teachers
  • In collaboration with the Managing Director of Human Resources, HR Coordinator, and Operations, develop strong onboarding and onboarding processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience using talent or human resource information platforms
  • 3+ years of experience with talent acquisition
  • Eagerness to resolve conflicts, not avoid them
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least five years of demonstrated success as a certified teacher, preferably in a charter school setting, with a track record of supporting student achievement and outcomes exceeding district and state performance standards
  • Proven track record of family and community collaborations that drive strong student outcomes and results

Compensation and Details

  • Starting salary: USD 65,000 - 90,000 per year
  • Location: Nashville, TN (onsite)
  • Reports to: Managing Director of Human Resources
  • Status: Exempt
  • Minimum experience: 3 years
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
