Job Description

Chewy is hiring a Sr. Human Resources Administrator in Reno, NV (onsite) to support the HR team and serve as an accessible first point-of-contact for employees. The role combines hands-on HR administration with employee-facing support, including onboarding coordination, HR documentation, time off and payroll adjustments, and HRIS-related data entry.

Compensation: $24–$36 per hour (hourly). Schedule: flexible, which may include days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site new employee orientations, covering benefit plans, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor the call-off line and process additional time off requests to support accurate absenteeism tracking
  • Process punch and payroll adjustments to help ensure time sheet accuracy
  • Handle HR updates within established deadlines
  • Maintain employee files and complete routine file audits
  • Write, revise, edit, and proofread policies & procedures and related documentation as needed
  • Use an electronic benefits bulletin board and other communication channels to share information
  • Perform additional HR duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (major in business or human resources preferred)
  • 1 to 3 years of experience administering general HR duties (preferred)
  • Computer skills and ability to learn HRIS systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including good punctuation, spelling, grammar, and attention to detail
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays)
