Job Description
The Talent Acquisition Recruiter in Career and Technical Education supports Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools by designing targeted recruitment strategies that connect industry professionals with CTE teaching roles and facilitate industry to education transitions.

Responsibilities
- Comply with applicable state, federal, and local laws, district policies, and procedures
- Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement targeted local, regional, and national recruiting strategies for high-demand CTE programs
- Provide targeted recruitment for CTE areas requiring non-traditional licensure, industry credentials, or technical expertise as identified by the CLNA
- Develop sourcing approaches to attract industry professionals from private sector fields such as skilled trades, health sciences, and IT, addressing mid career transitions to teaching
- Establish and maintain relationships with trade organizations, industry associations, and workforce partners to broaden pipelines beyond traditional K-12 channels
- Build robust pipelines of qualified CTE candidates and actively engage candidates through direct sourcing and networking
- Perform technical screenings to verify industry credentials required for instructional eligibility in specific CTE pathways
- Collaborate with CTE leadership and school leaders to align recruitment with the CTE Local Application goals, ensuring alignment with state-approved programs
- Create CTE specific recruitment initiatives and marketing materials that emphasize industry to education transitions
- Represent CTE programs at industry job fairs, technical college events, and professional conferences beyond general educator recruitment fairs
- Track and analyze applicant flow data, industry conversion metrics, and CTE recruitment performance indicators
- Support onboarding communications and candidate experience management
- Develop branding strategies to attract industry professionals into education
- Support CTE talent initiatives aligned with program instructional priorities in the CTE Local Application
- Perform related work as assigned or required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant recruiting or HR experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Knowledge of teacher licensure pathways in North Carolina, including alternative licensure and lateral entry, with emphasis on industry professional pathways such as Residency Licenses for CTE
- Understanding of CTE credentialing requirements and industry certification standards
- Familiarity with workforce development systems and labor market trends related to CTE to support the CTE Local Application
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Ability to build partnerships across education, business, and community sectors
- Skill in data analysis and interpreting CTE program conversion metrics and labor market alignment data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation delivery
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems, and database management
- Ability to develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies across diverse talent pools
- Ability to work across a large, complex, matrixed organization
- Ability to interpret labor market data and align recruitment with program needs
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all HR related matters
- Ability to travel to industry events, colleges, district sites, and professional meetings
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to engage with candidates and recruiting partners

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The district reserves the right to require work at other locations as reasonably required.
Special Requirements
- SHRM-CP, aPHR, PHR, or other HR certifications preferred
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
