Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Representative is an on-site role supporting Viejas Casino & Resort's Talent Acquisition team at the Center of Career Development in Alpine, California. This position handles guest reception, HR inquiries, and applicant support with the applicant tracking system and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial contact for the VCCD Human Resources team, greeting and directing candidates, staff, vendors, and guests while providing information on HR topics and company policies.
  • Answer and route phone calls and voicemails to the appropriate staff as needed.
  • Provide front desk coverage in the absence of the Training Specialist.
  • Coordinate with applicants throughout the hiring and onboarding process, scheduling appointments and assisting with electronic applicant and onboarding systems.
  • Enter data and resolve discrepancies within the applicant tracking system in a timely manner.
  • Update files promptly and transfer records to electronic storage when required.
  • Review applications and onboarding documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Administer pre-employment drug tests for new hires and current staff, tracking results and sharing them with recruiters or departments.
  • Prepare and distribute additional documents related to the application process, drug and alcohol screening, I-9 verification, confidentiality agreements, and tax forms (W-4).
  • Assist with coordinating gaming commission appointments and review new hire paperwork for accuracy, including uniform fitting and passport photos.
  • Coordinate internal transfers of team members and verify that all prerequisites are met.
  • Process pre-employment I-9 verification and subsequent E-Verify re-verification for new candidates, following applicable regulations and procedures.
  • Support setup, organization, and placement of candidates at hiring events, both on and off property.
  • Provide support with HR projects and other duties as needed.
  • This position does not supervise other team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of experience in human resources administration or a related field is required.
  • Beginning to intermediate experience with computer systems, including HCM platforms, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in Spanish is required.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter and also collaborate effectively in a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capacity to perform well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures consistently.
