Job Description

Sentara Healthcare is offering a remote Talent Acquisition Specialist role in Norfolk, VA, supporting critical hiring needs across assigned business units. If you enjoy partnering with hiring managers and HR Business Partners, this position blends proactive recruiting with hands-on, full-cycle execution. You will help strengthen hiring outcomes while delivering an excellent candidate and stakeholder experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand current and future hiring needs
  • Anticipate workforce trends and develop proactive recruiting strategies to address talent gaps
  • Act as a trusted advisor using talent market insights, candidate availability, and hiring best practices
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned positions, from intake through offer
  • Plan and facilitate screening, interviewing, and selection processes
  • Ensure a consistent, efficient, high-quality hiring experience for candidates and stakeholders
  • Identify and leverage new and diverse sourcing channels to attract top talent
  • Conduct both tactical and strategic sourcing, including proactive outreach to passive candidates
  • Support workforce planning by participating in forecasting and recruitment planning
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies aligned with business priorities
  • Continuously look for ways to enhance recruitment processes and improve outcomes
  • Lead or contribute to talent acquisition projects and initiatives
  • Effectively manage a high volume of requisitions across varied job types and complexity
  • Maintain strong organization and follow-through in a fast-paced environment

Required qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Strongly Preferred)
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative partnership skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and a high requisition volume
  • Proven success in sourcing, engaging, and hiring high-impact talent
  • Commitment to inclusive hiring practices and diverse talent pipelines
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Location and travel

  • Remote with regular travel required across Virginia and North Carolina
  • Residency within 50 miles of Virginia Beach, VA is strongly preferred
