Admissions Counselor/Recruiter
Job Description
Admissions Counselor/Recruiter supports Job Corps outreach, recruitment, eligibility determination, and admissions in line with government and management directives.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct outreach activities with public service agencies, community organizations, schools, and individuals who may refer eligible candidates to Job Corps
- Interview interested candidates and collect required information for each prospect
- Prepare documentation for potential students and review with the center as applicable or necessary
- Provide prospect orientation, including clear and accurate information about Job Corps, the specific center, and student expectations
- Schedule center tours when able
- Maintain monthly goals as directed by management
- Contact prospects within the first 24 hours as required and record each contact or attempt of contact
- Regularly review and audit assigned areas for contractual compliance and effectiveness of student service delivery
- Prepare required reports related to outreach
- Assist with development of new or revised policies and procedures impacting student recruitment
- Build a recruiting network with youth development agencies, one-stop agencies, churches, and community organizations
- Introduce labor market information to support career transition planning and analyze local career paths
- Participate in student employ-ability programs and activities
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy
- Model appropriate behaviors to support Career Success Standards, mentor students as necessary, and monitor behaviors through interventions
- Maintain accountability of students and property while adhering to safety practices
- Demonstrate and follow LifeSkills Connection core values and operating principles
- Comply with DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and company and center policies and procedures
- Participate in PRH mandated staff training (non-participation may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination)
- Travel as required
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or Associate’s degree in the same fields plus two years related experience
- Valid State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record

Experience
