Job Description

Directs all HR operations for the Westin Dallas Fort Worth Airport in Irving, TX, onsite, overseeing recruitment, training and development, benefits administration, and employee relations. As a member of the hotel's executive committee, this role partners with the General Manager to cultivate a positive culture and align people strategies with the hotel's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the HR program within the hotel, including interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching and supporting associates, ensuring performance aligns with brand or hotel standards and HHM core values.
  • Coordinate with HHM centralized Human Resources functional teams to ensure benefits, compensation, leave of training and employee relations programs are effectively communicated and administered at the property level.
  • Lead a talent acquisition strategy that oversees the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting jobs, proactively sourcing candidates, interviewing, and ensuring hotel managers select the best qualified candidates.
  • Onboard new hires and separate team members in accordance with established standards and applicable state, federal and local laws and regulations.
  • Perform employee relations activities to foster a positive work culture, promote fairness, and provide unbiased assistance with associate issues and concerns. If concerns such as harassment or discrimination arise, lead the internal investigation and review process.
  • Develop and/or implement training programs as needed to meet HHM and brand standards.
  • Lead a positive and performance-driven culture throughout the hotel.
  • If applicable, guide the functions of direct report(s) in the hotel’s Human Resources department, which may include overseeing administrative components of payroll.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM EarthView program.
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of previous Human Resources experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Human Resource certification and/or involvement in the local hotel HR community preferred.
