Job Description

Pleasant Valley Corporation is seeking a skilled Human Resource Generalist to deliver comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle from our Medina, Ohio, on-site location. The role counsels managers on employee and labor relations, guides performance management and policy interpretation, and oversees HR operations and HRIS administration to sustain compliant and effective people practices.

Responsibilities

  • HRIS Leadership & Administration: Act as the HRIS subject matter expert, directing system design, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing enhancements across integrated modules while protecting data integrity, security, and privacy compliance.
  • Employee & Manager Support: Provide day-to-day HR assistance, respond to inquiries about HR systems, payroll, benefits, and total rewards, and deliver training to maximize self-service utilization.
  • Reporting & Payroll Support: Develop and present HR and payroll reports, support regulatory compliance, and serve as a backup for payroll processing to ensure accuracy, reconciliation, and audit readiness.
  • Employee Lifecycle & Relations: Partner with leaders to support recruitment, performance management, development, and offboarding, while guiding employee and labor relations, including investigations and policy application.
  • Continuous Improvement & HR Initiatives: Identify opportunities to optimize processes and systems, contribute to compliance efforts, and participate in HR projects and cross-functional initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Employee Relations Expertise: proven ability to advise and support managers on employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues.
  • HRIS & Systems Proficiency: hands-on experience with HRIS and ATS platforms (for example, Paycor or similar), with strong technical aptitude for system use and optimization.
  • Union & Labor Relations Knowledge: experience in a unionized environment, including collective agreement interpretation, grievance coordination, and interaction with union representatives.
  • Multi-Site HR Support: demonstrated ability to manage HR operations across multiple locations while ensuring consistent policy application and employee engagement.
