Job Description

Pennland Pure offers an onsite Human Resources Manager role in Hancock, Maryland with a clear path to impact. This position provides a salary range of $72,000 to $85,000 per year, a comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to partner with leadership to shape people strategies across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll administration, and compliance. Reporting to the Director of Operations and collaborating closely with the Director of Human Resources, you will help elevate performance at the location.

Responsibilities

  • Provide human resources guidance to all levels of management and employees.
  • Work with employees and managers to identify root causes, conduct investigations, and resolve issues with a systematic, analytical approach to reduce employment liability.
  • Partner with the management team to analyze people needs and issues, then design and implement an action plan.
  • Oversee recruitment and hiring to meet staffing needs for both non-exempt and exempt positions.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage recruitment and onboarding, including:
    • Internal and external job postings
    • Headcount coordination with supervisors
    • Reviewing applications and scheduling interviews or plant tours
    • Onboarding and orientation for new hires
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and deliver required training for employees at all levels, including business processes, policies, and compliance training.
  • Evaluate employee programs and advise on improvements to employee relations policies to align with regulations.
  • Administer HR programs and policies in compliance with employment laws including EEO, ADA, and FMLA.
  • Identify opportunities to improve overall location performance and implement changes.
  • Review time and payroll data, reconciling through the ADP payroll system; verify attendance and hours worked and post pay adjustments.
  • Complete other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; able to work collaboratively across departments and management levels.
  • Demonstrates business maturity and integrity, especially with confidential information.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, consistent HR processes and services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems; ADP experience preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience, including employee relations, compliance, and payroll administration.
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (3 years required).
