Job Description

The Senior Talent Acquisition Recruiter role at STSI is an onsite position based in Matthews, North Carolina. The incumbent will deliver a high level of service to internal and external customers while leading the daily operations of the employment office. The position carries an hourly rate of $38 to $43 and requires a High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least three years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including recent work recruiting engineers in the nuclear power sector.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing, screening, and conducting preliminary interviews with prospective candidates.
  • Coordinating site interviews with the appropriate hiring manager to select qualified candidates for project-specific requirements and extending contingent offers in accordance with federal and state law.
  • Managing assigned employment requisitions, including reviewing, editing, and obtaining final approval.
  • Tracking and reporting staffing data using software tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related databases.
  • Assisting in building and managing Employment Staffing Plans by entering information related to hiring requirements.
  • Developing and updating job descriptions based on project scope and work requirements.
  • Coordinating redeployment initiatives with proactive communication to employees prior to anticipated end dates.
  • Handling the operational and administrative components of the hire process, including background checks, drug screen, health screen, I9 compliance, E-Verify compliance, employment paperwork, and site-specific requirements.
  • Serving as a point of contact for internal partners at the job site for portions of the employment process, acting as lead for processing or a portion of recruiting efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with recent experience hiring engineering professionals within the nuclear power industry.
  • Direct experience recruiting for disciplines such as instrumentation and control, electrical, mechanical, and civil/structural engineering, focusing on plant modifications, design engineering, and system upgrades.
  • Proven ability to evaluate candidates against nuclear-specific requirements, including experience supporting design packages, field walkdowns, system ownership, and familiarity with NRC regulations and nuclear plant operations.
  • Experience recruiting for digital controls, legacy system upgrades, and instrumentation and control systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting project-based hiring where schedules, mobilization dates, site needs, and technical depth are critical.
  • Proven ability to work independently as the sole engineering recruiter supporting business leaders and hiring managers.
  • Strong sourcing experience with demonstrated success identifying and engaging passive candidates across multiple channels.
  • High sense of urgency with strong follow-up, responsiveness, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn ATS systems quickly.
