Junior Recruiter
Job Description
The Junior Recruiter role with Serco North America is based in Herndon, VA with a hybrid work arrangement requiring two days onsite weekly. The role supports Talent Acquisition across Corporate, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Transitioning Service-members contracts, and involves full lifecycle recruiting responsibilities for candidates in the DC metro area.
Responsibilities
- Employ a range of assessment tools and techniques to determine candidate fit for the role.
- Maintain open communication with applicants, providing status updates and addressing questions.
- Conduct initial phone or video interviews to evaluate qualifications and alignment with the position.
- Support a workload comprising 10 to 15 Hiring Managers simultaneously.
- Offer guidance to Hiring Managers with support from the TA Manager, Lead Recruiters, or Senior Recruiters as needed.
- Assist Lead Recruiters, the TA Manager, or Senior TA Manager with Hiring Manager status update meetings.
- Participate in training sessions to master recruiting processes, tools, and best practices.
- Monitor candidate movement metrics to stay on target.
- Track requisition time-to-fill targets to maintain efficiency.
- Process and update offer letters within the ATS.
- Manage 30-40 openings concurrently with assistance from a lead, senior recruiter, or manager.
- Create requisitions with minimal TA Manager input and maintain a low rate of approval rejections.
- Assist in drafting job descriptions, posting ads, and overseeing recruitment marketing efforts.
- Demonstrate basic proficiency with iCIMS or a comparable ATS for record maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of candidate interactions and statuses in the ATS with minimal errors.
- Source candidates from external resources, including job boards.
- Develop nurture campaigns with assistance.
- Conduct weekly direct outreach to employers.
- Apply strategic recruiting methods to fill more challenging skill sets with guidance from the Lead or TA Manager.
- Proactively build and maintain talent pipelines for future hiring needs with support from the Lead or TA Manager.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of related experience, or a high school diploma with 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite, ATS/Recruiting systems, and HRIS databases.
- Minimum 2 years in full lifecycle recruiting, including candidate attraction, sourcing, screening, networking, assessment, and handling pre-employment and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of OFCCP compliance.
- At least 2 years of Federal and/or State & Local government contracting experience.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies, including online engagement and networking through various channels.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills.
- Travel requirement of 10 percent.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and environments.
