Job Description

Hotel Bel-Air's People & Culture Manager in Training is a fixed 12-month program focused on Learning & Development, onboarding, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the People & Culture structure, with a primary emphasis on Learning & Development; learn operating standards, and clearly explain policies on attendance, grooming, benefits, and conduct aligned with the hotel’s mission, values, and Pledge.
  • Support an elite service culture through ongoing education; while L&D is the main focus, you will also learn our digital HR ecosystem and navigate HRIS platforms including Talent-Soft, DC Legends, LEX, and Paycom, while gaining insight into ESG and sustainability goals.
  • Champion effective communication for all L&D initiatives and P&C events across channels such as bulletin boards, corporate emails, and daily lineups to ensure training alignment across the hotel team.
  • Progress toward independently managing educational initiatives; shadow the Learning & Development Manager, deliver Dorchester training programs and California compliance sessions, and design and lead live training modules in a leadership capacity.
  • Gain cross-functional exposure to the full talent acquisition cycle, shadow skills-based screenings and interviews, and oversee the onboarding process to illustrate the link between onboarding and ongoing training success.
  • Document and observe employee relations matters to understand how ongoing training mitigates operational challenges; contribute to employee engagement and plan diverse events to elevate morale and reinforce educational goals while celebrating team culture.
  • Bring the Dorchester Collection values to life — Passion, Personality, Respect, Working Together, and Creativity — contributing to the hotel’s legacy.
