Sales Recruiting Manager, In-Home Sales
Job Description
Southern National Roofing is expanding its in-home sales organization across multiple markets in the Charlotte, NC area. In this role, you will own senior recruiting for commissioned in-home sales reps, building reliable pipelines from first ad launch through onboarding and early field retention.
Working primarily onsite in Charlotte, you will manage ad spend, source candidates including passive closers, run the process in Workable, and guide interviews and hiring decisions that support training class capacity and retention outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Manage recruiting ad spend (primarily Indeed) by writing and posting ads for 9 markets, setting budgets, and reallocating dollars to what is performing.
- Source experienced commissioned closers, including passive candidates who are not actively job hunting.
- Run the full candidate workflow in Workable: review applications, move candidates through stages, and keep the pipeline current and clean.
- Lead and coach the pre-screener who handles screening calls and outreach and schedules your final interviews.
- Conduct final sales interviews and provide hiring recommendations.
- Fill each training class and follow new reps through training and their first weeks in the field.
- Track and report recruiting KPIs weekly, including applications, cost per hire, show rates, class attendance, and 30/90-day retention by market and by ad.
What you’ll need
- Recruiting experience, ideally high-volume recruiting for commissioned sales roles.
- Comfort working with numbers such as ad spend, conversion rates, and cost per hire.
- Experience managing or coaching at least one recruiter or coordinator.
- A player-coach mindset who still enjoys engaging with candidates directly.
- Workable or other ATS experience is a plus.
- Background in home services and similar industries (roofing, solar, HVAC, pest control) is a plus.
- Must live within commuting distance of Charlotte, NC and work onsite.
Tools you’ll use
- Indeed
- Workable
Compensation and benefits
- Starting base salary: $70,000 - $75,000
- $5,000 base increase after 90 days upon completion of defined initial objectives
- Performance bonus tied to reps hired and retained
- Total compensation opportunity: approximately $100,000 - $120,000
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid company holidays
- PTO: one week in Year One, two weeks starting Year Two
- Weekday schedule
How success is measured
- Performance is evaluated based on reps in the field and reps staying at 30 and 90 days, not on offers made.
Learn the business first
- During the first weeks, you will shadow the current process end to end, sit in on interviews, and ride along with reps on in-home appointments.
- The role emphasizes that recruiting should be informed by seeing the job done.
Growth and future opportunities
- With approximately 40% year-over-year growth, the company is building teams and developing new leaders.
- As you build the recruiting team and improve hiring and retention, the scope is expected to evolve over time.
- For the right person, Recruiting Manager can start a broader career path rather than being the endpoint.
- Future opportunities may develop in Talent Acquisition, HR, Operations, or other areas based on performance, leadership ability, business needs, and results.
Location: Charlotte, NC (onsite).
Salary range: USD 70,000 - 120,000 per year.
