Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Brahms Construction reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager and owns full-cycle recruiting for an assigned set of requisitions. This onsite role supports sourcing, screening, interviewing, evaluation, and offer recommendations, while partnering closely with hiring managers to improve recruiting outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle for assigned requisitions, including posting and optimizing job advertisements, sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing, evaluating candidates, and recommending offers.
  • Proactively source talent through direct outreach, cold calling, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed Smart Sourcing, other job boards, networking events, industry groups, and social platforms.
  • Design and execute sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill and high-impact roles.
  • Conduct phone screens and in-depth interviews to assess qualifications, experience, and cultural fit, then provide recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and respond with tailored recruiting strategies.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager and business leaders to identify current and future staffing needs and develop proactive talent pipelines.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate records in Paylocity (applicant tracking system).
  • Track and analyze recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source-of-hire, and candidate outreach volume to drive continuous improvement.
  • Administer and analyze candidate assessments, including Predictive Index and assessments provided via CMA Consult.
  • Support employer branding initiatives with the Marketing team, including creating social media content, collecting employee testimonials, and promoting hiring events.
  • Act as a company ambassador by promoting the organization’s culture, mission, and values and representing the company at career fairs, networking events, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Perform ongoing market research to stay current on talent trends, competitive hiring practices, and sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal recruiting policies, employment regulations, and best practices throughout the hiring process.
  • Champion inclusion and diversity throughout recruitment activities.
  • Partner with onboarding and HR colleagues to support a seamless transition from offer acceptance through new-hire onboarding.
  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community organizations, colleges and training programs, employment agencies, and other talent networks.
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to define role requirements, success criteria, and sourcing approach.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers, including arranging candidate travel and accommodations when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Applicant tracking system and recruitment tool knowledge is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with tracking and analyzing recruitment data to assess key performance metrics is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and experience with HRIS systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience recruiting within the construction industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting healthcare recruiting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with employment law is preferred.
  • Experience with Paylocity is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Daily onsite presence at the corporate office is required.
  • Occasional travel up to 20% may be required for recruitment events, training events, or site visits.
  • Work is primarily desk-based for most of the workday.
  • May require walking or standing for extended periods.
  • Occasionally required to stand/move, communicate, and identify written information.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift or move up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Performance is measured using key recruiting metrics (KPIs).
  • May need to move through areas of the corporate office or other worksites.
  • May juggle multiple recruitment processes simultaneously with deadlines tied to hiring roles or initiatives.
  • Must be proficient in video conferencing tools, email, and Microsoft Office Suite for managing reports, schedules, and communications.
  • Participates in staff activities that foster teamwork, unity, and morale.
