Job Description

Experienced, relationship-focused Talent Acquisition Specialist II sought to lead full-cycle recruiting for technical and corporate roles within the AEC sector, delivering strong candidate experiences and building pipelines in Atlanta, GA onsite or Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for a mix of technical and corporate roles with emphasis on the East Coast and Midwest, including engineering, surveying, construction management, environmental, and corporate support positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to clarify technical requirements, business needs, hiring timelines, and team dynamics to streamline the process.
  • Develop and execute proactive sourcing plans to engage active and passive candidates via LinkedIn Recruiter, industry networks, referrals, professional associations, and additional channels.
  • Post roles, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, facilitate assessments, and manage offers while maintaining clear communication with candidates and hiring teams.
  • Lead recruiting initiatives and sourcing campaigns aligned with talent priorities and hiring goals.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and recruiting activity in the applicant tracking system for a smooth hiring flow.
  • Proactively build pipelines of qualified engineering and technical talent to support current and future needs.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with universities, professional associations, industry groups, and community partners to strengthen recruiting efforts.
  • Represent MacKay at college career fairs, industry conferences, networking events, and other recruiting activities to promote the employer brand.
  • Deliver a best-in-class candidate experience through clear communication, timely follow-up, and professional engagement at every stage.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with high-potential candidates for future opportunities.
  • Ensure recruiting activities comply with employment laws, company policies, and equal employment opportunity practices.
  • Utilize Greenhouse and other recruiting technologies to manage candidate flow and ensure data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Communications to craft engaging job postings, social content, and outreach campaigns to boost visibility among potential candidates.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to support onboarding and ensure pre-employment requirements are met for all candidates.
  • Provide regular updates to the Talent Acquisition Lead on progress, open requisitions, and market challenges.
  • Track key recruitment metrics to refine and improve processes over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of talent acquisition experience in the AEC industry or a closely related field.
  • Experience designing sourcing strategies and using multiple candidate-attraction channels including LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, networking groups, employee referrals, and social media.
  • Proven ability to hire and build strong talent pipelines.
  • Demonstrated capability to proactively identify and resolve hiring challenges.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws, hiring best practices, and current market trends.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS; Greenhouse and Rippling experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with an asynchronous team in a hybrid setting.
