The HR Generalist position at Wheat Holdings supports payroll, HRIS, onboarding, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, and compliance across two bakeries, with in-person duties at either Three Forks, MT or Salt Lake City, UT.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time using Paycom.
- Maintain employee records to ensure data remains clean, current, and compliant.
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and employment verification activities.
- Conduct new hire orientation to create a welcoming first day experience.
- Administer benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k).
- Support recruitment from job postings through interviews, offers, and background checks.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns.
- Coach supervisors and managers on performance discussions and disciplinary matters.
- Proactively help resolve conflicts before they escalate.
- Maintain compliance with federal, Montana, and Utah employment laws.
- Manage I-9 verifications, wage and hour requirements, FMLA, and workers’ compensation processes.
- Prepare and file required reports and documentation.
- Support OSHA recordkeeping and coordinate safety training.
Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, food production, distribution, or another frontline environment.
- Direct payroll processing experience; Paycom experience is a plus, with the ability to adapt to ADP, UKG, or similar systems.
- For Salt Lake City applicants, fluency in both Spanish and English is required to engage effectively with a bilingual production workforce.
- Working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, and I-9 requirements.
- Comfort with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Discretion with confidential information at all times.
- Clear communication across all levels, from the production floor to the executive team.

Compensation
Salary range: USD 59,445 - 71,589 per year.
