The State of New Mexico invites a Senior Human Resource Consultant to serve as an HR Generalist for a network of small HR Service agencies, delivering comprehensive HR support including recruitment, payroll and benefits processing, employee relations, leave and accommodation management, and regulatory guidance. This onsite role is based in Santa Fe, NM.
Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment activities and processing of hires.
- Manage payroll and benefits actions.
- Provide employee relations consultation and guidance.
- Process leave requests and accommodation requests.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal policies and regulations.
- Offer HR guidance to agencies on a broad range of needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- One year of experience in human resources operations, including recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training, and/or occupational analysis.
- Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any field plus one year of experience in human resource operations including recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training, and/or occupational analysis.
- Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience totaling five years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
- Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must obtain Defensive Driving Course Certification within six months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting with substantial use of computer equipment and standard office devices. Some travel may be required.
