Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for employee and management questions related to People Operations
Deliver high-touch customer service for team members and applicants
Maintain a welcoming, professional environment within People Operations
Handle employee files and records with strict confidentiality, discretion, and compliance
Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes

Assist with compliance across federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Maintain required labor law postings, documentation, and audit records
Support administration of policies, procedures, compensation programs, and benefits processes
Recommend operational process improvements to enhance efficiency

Requirements

Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
Minimum 3 years of administrative or human resources experience
Prefer experience in hospitality, private clubs, hotels, resorts, or other service-focused environments
Experience supporting a diverse workforce in a fast-paced environment
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Human Capital Management (HCM) systems
Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) is a plus
High-volume, seasonal staffing experience highly desirable

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator provides day-to-day operational support for the Office of Human Resources at Anne Arundel Community College. Record all college-approved FMLA continuous/intermittent cases and STD cases.
Review time entry bi-monthly and submit updates in the appropriate timekeeping platform.

Track leave entries in designated time recording logs; run requested accrual usage reports for managers and supervisors.
Run monthly audit reports to capture employees not found in the system or employees missing leave allotments.
Support Talent Acquisition by attending job fairs and recruitment events as needed.
Support compensation functions by completing salary placement worksheets, assisting with the salary increase process, and assisting with annual salary surveys.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree
Minimum 5 years of high-level administrative support experience, including at least 2 years of direct Human Resources experience.
Advanced computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
High proficiency with administrative database software systems, familiarity with HR tracking systems, and applicant tracking systems.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, editing, proofreading, and accuracy.
